    Default Is SCAuto Dead ?

There has been several rumors that SCAuto should be a dead product, and was to be replaced by Connect. It .

I have asked Peregrine Product Management for an "Official" answer and got the following:

Q: One of customers has been informed that SCAuto has gone into End of Service - To my knowledge, its not.
A: This is correct, we continue to develop, sell, and support SCAuto.

I was interested in SCAuto for Tivoli because our customer is in the progress of upgrading to TEC 3.8, and had been told that there was no new versions comming out. Peregrine confirmed that support for TEC 3.8 will be released shortly.

I heard from Connect. It developers that SCAuto is on the way out. Gradually the SCAuto connectors will be ported to Connect. It but SCAuto would still be supported for a long time yet.
    Best regards Tommy

    Hi Tommy,

I think that is where the confusion starts - The Connect. It developers think so, but according to Peregrine, that is not the case.

There is an ongoing "war" in Peregrine between France (AssetCenter & Connect. It) and USA (ServiceCenter & Get.It). This was also the case when I was in Peregrine, and since the first version of Connect. It the message from France has been that Connect. It would replace SCAuto, and also Archway (Get.It).

Great, nothing like a dose of uncertainty and confusion...
