You should go there guys, what a nice area, I was in Maimi in May, and Jeppe, go and have a look inside the Mango Bar, oh dear .... :P

Anyone here from the Miami/Florida area?
Since I'm traveling all the way from Denmark to attend Synergy, I've though about spending a couple of days more in excess of Synergy in sunny Miami/FL! 8) But what would be worth seeing in the area?
I've thought about renting a car and perhaps go down to the Keys, but is anything else more worth a small roadtrip or are there perhaps something local in Miami of interest?
And are the Keys really worth the trip?
P.s. I've already visited Seaworld in San Diego.
P.p.s Even though I can only guess on what the Mango bar is, then I'm not really thinking in these lines of such "places worth seeing"
Best regards,
Michael
To be honest, I really dont know yet... I'm not even sure whether I'll stay extra time, whether I'll rent a car, etc...Originally Posted by tommy
I know that I properly wont rent a car, if there's enough to see and reach without a car in the Miami area... But if I do rent a car, then I wouldn't mind driving as far as the Keys, so I believe that the Everglades would also be a possibility (even though I dont know either if they are near Miami)...
As of now, I've thought about the following posibilities:
- the Keys, e.g. Key West (is this anything else than beach, beach and beach?)
- the Everglades
- Epcot center
- DisneyWorld (I've visited Disneyland in Paris, so this is not an absolute must on my list)
- SeaWorld (seen this in San Diego)
- Miami SeAquarium (more or less same story as SeaWorld I presume)
- Universal Studios
- Any nature experiences? (is there any nature experiences nearby, except the Glades? In the lines of Yellowstone or so?)
Please feel free to comment or expand the list

Michael
You should know that if You want to goto Disneyworld, Universal, Kennedy space center the drive is 4-6 hours from Miami. I tried that on my first visit in 1996. I don't remember the exact driving time but I think is was around 4-6 hours.
Go to Everglades (protect your self from annoying mosquitos), they have a bus that can come a get you there, it takes around 1 hour to get here, just ask at the frontdesk at your hotel. Go and have a look at the Miami beach and you can actually walk a pretty long distance there and then swap into the town environment.
Go and have look at the Miami Marinas. Stay away from Little Havanna, but have a look here:

I think the american football season is over, I saw Miami Dolphins and Buffalo Bills, 70.000 spectators, wauw ...but a stupid game

You're right that the season ended (1.st Feb), but you're absolutely not right that it's a stupid game thoughOriginally Posted by sjensen
I can't remember when the new season starts, but if it's up and running at the end of May, then I think I'll definately add a Dolphine game as an option to the list!

Kennedy Space center is 1 hour drive from Orlando but out at the coast so the total drive will probably be the same.Originally Posted by mkristensen
Yeah well... The rules to football are a bit more complicated than those of tick-tack-toe, so I can see how "some" might be lost there... :lol:Originally Posted by jeppegotha
