Default Connections taken on Oracle server

    Hello,

I noticed something concerning about the number of connections taken in Oracle. It seems that every SC process and every user connection in SC takes two (2) connections on the Oracle database. I can understand 1 connection per process or user connection but why a second one? If we logout or kill a user process the 2 connections are freed again. But again this is not always, sometimes a rogue oracle connection is left on the system and never freed again.
My question is if this normal behaviour on an SC pushed to Oracle or SQL? And second, is there a way to free up those rogue connections?

    SC 5.0.4 on AIX 5.2
    Oracle 9.2 on AIX 5.2
    Clients 5.0.4 on W2K

I don't have the same behavior on mine.
I see 1 Oracle connection for each SC session, plus 1 each for each background process.

    HP-UX 11.11
    Oracle 9.2
    SC 5.1.1

We're noticing the same thing, SC 5.1.5.1 on AIX 5.2, Oracle 9.2. Is there a fix for this?
