Using network drives in scanarios running as NT service is not possible.

To do this Peregrine says you need to change the NT service to specify an account instead of using the system account which is the default setup when COIT creates the NT service.

At least in the company I work in that poses a problem. Our security rules dictate that all passwords need to be changed with a certain interval, and generic users with passwords that do not expire is not allowed.

Peregrine says it works as designed.

I have a scenario that reads a text file from a network drive that runs as a service just fine. However even though they don't support it I have it running under an NT user account because that's the only way I could gain access to the network drive. If you have to change passwords often the you could change it for the service as well.

That was the answer I got, it would work if I did that.

But I do not want to do that. If I did that I would have to use my own user and if I forget to change the nt service when I change my password I will quickly have my account locked out and can't work.

It can't be true that Peregrine totally ignores the fact that to run like this would in many windows installations require that basic security rules are bypassed. This is the same problem we experienced with SCAuto Mapi Mail. To get that running we had to have a Lotus Notes user with no password.

We have very strict password rules.

So I have insisted that they treat it as a bug and fix it so the scenario can run with the system account.
