On the user guide, it says that I need to load UNL file in order to make SC consume record. What is an UNL? Do I really need it and How can I make one? Thanks in advance

Can tell a bit more about what You are attempting to do?
What I am trying to is move data in a text file into Service Center. My understanding is that SC will not allow direct connection. Everything must go through Event? am I right?. When the event run, the mapping will start to move data into appropriate table. Is mapping an UNL file?
You need to use the Text Import Wizard. Goto the Database Manager and choose in Options the Text Import Wizard. Here you give in the text file, to what table in SC the data is going and the type of file (win, unix, mvs). The next step is to create an sort of mapping file that defines the fieldmapping. Then you start the import.
If I follow your instruction, then I don't need Connect it, right? ??? And how am I going to create a mapping file. Any documentation for this, thanks
Yes, thats correct You don't need Connect. It for this.
You can find the documentation in the "Data Administration guide", the chapter is called "Export and Import utility"
But I need Connect-It to customize the data that going into Service Center. Anyway, what I learned is that I need to write an input event and a map, in order to move the data into SC. I wrote the event, and the map too. I opened Connect-It and see my new map. When I run Connect-It, I got a General Error, "Unable to insert the event into the input queue" My question is "How can I insert the event into the input queue?". Peregrine's Documentation is so hard to read and follow >=(
Hi Gurus,
I've manage to create the legacy run in SM7, but still I'm always getting error in the connect-it 3.81. it's drives me crazy over the weeks now...
the error is like this:
Unable to insert the event into the input queue.
Reason for failure: 'General error code'
This is when unchecking the write enabling checbox in configuration of SM connector.
With this when i test the connector the test is successfull.
When i check the write enabling checkbox in configuration of SM connector, the test fails.
It gives a error Connection Error, Cannot retrieve metadata.
Anyone got this error and found a solution for this.....?
Thanks & Regards in advance
