On december 21. 2004 this website was hit by a worm that targets vulnerable versions of the software phpBB which the site uses. I was not quick enough to update the software to the latest version so the site was defazed by the worm that used google to hit a huge number of phpBB based websites. The database was not comprimised in any way.

The forum software has now been updated to the latest version which does not have any known vulnerabilities.

A sideeffect of the update is very obvious, all the customizations I had done is now gone. It would have taken much longer to get the site back up if I had to implement those customizations again. So I have decided to keep site as standard as possible. This will make it easier for me to update the forum when new versions of the software is released. The phpBB group which develops this forum software are working on a major new release that will be much better than the current level. By keeping the forum simple I will also make it easier to upgrade to the next major version of the software. You could say that I have opted for a "canned sc version" :lol: I hope everybody will still use and benefit from the site.

A special big thanks must go to Kyle Obear, Kilowatt Networking who very generously offered to host the site as soon as he heard the site was down. The site is now running on a much faster server which You probably can see already.
