Thread: Has anyone upgraded from 4.05 to 6.0 or 6.1

I would like to know the steps you took and experiences witnessed. Thanks for any response.

I have performed about 10 upgrades in the past 6 years (to SC3, SC5 and SC5.1) using Peregrine ServiceCenter upgrade tool.

With the experience from these upgrades I would not recommend performing an upgrade without any assistance!

There are two options: Redesign or Upgrade - decision depends on:

- how much customization is done?
- which new features are available that can replace own customizations?
- etc....

So you need to compare new functionality of SC6.1 with your own system. Maybe some customizations that you have done are no longer needed, etc.

So an assessment would be a good idea...

Sorry to repeat the question, but I was wondering if anybody has done this since the original posting?

Just working through post upgrade issues with our system. Went from a mixed 4/5 system (SC4.0.5 RAD, 5.1.4 RTE) to 6.1.2 app/eclipse client, 6.1.3 web tier (6.1.3 fixed a number of critical bugs for us in the web tier, so we went with that and did not upgrade RTE or eclipse client).
