Smile Forum software have been upgraded

The forum software have been upgraded to vBulletin.

I choose to replace phpBB with vBulletin because VB offers a lot more features that are still in development for phpBB.

It will take some time getting used to the new forum since a lot have changed.

First I would like You to goto the user control panel (usercp) and update Your profile, remember to check all the sections and be sure to fill in the optional fields product experince, years of experience and real name.

The software have a true "read posts" marking feature which will not be reset on logout. This means You can see next time which posts have not been read yet. You can mark all forums read from the Quick links menu.

You can see a list of new posts since last visit, this includes the unread posts.

For those that do not visit every day it is now possible to subscribe to forums. So if You would like an email when there are new posts in a forum this is now possible.

When You browse the new forum and notice something is not working, or information does not look right then please click on this image and provide a short description on the problem. This report post feature should also be used to report troublesome posts. I will get a notification and look into it as soon as possible.

The old way with a lot of usergroups You could join and leave to limit the index page is gone. That was a workaround to the subfroums which are now in place. Now there are only a few usergroups most deal with the FAQ.

I have tried to categorise all the old forums into categories and subforums. If You think they should be grouped differently then post a message here and I will look into it. Also suggest new forums / subforums here.

I am still tweaking the forums and moving posts. I will close some of the forums and move the posts to other forums. For example the tips & tricks forums will be closed and the posts will be moved to the parent forum. For example in this forum will be moved to this.

The old internal linking to other threads and posts do not work, they need to be changed manually. So if You come across links like that then please click on the report post button and just type link broken in the message.

I hope You will like the new forum.

    Thanks.

I forgot to mention one of the more usefull features the new software gives.

Subscription to forum. Get an email when new posts are posted in a forum. If You just want to know when something is posted about Connect. It then subscribe to that forum.

Is there an option to select all forums by one click?

    Best regards
