are you talking just the binary files, leaving your application files alone? If so, that should be fine.
Why 4.0.1.2 (which I don't even see as existing) as opposed to whatever the best you can get is? (4.0.9 or 4.1.3? I'm not up on the 4.x versions and their problems/benefits).
4.0.1.2 is the latest version of SCAuto MAPI that is availble. The first thing Support will ask you to do if you call for an SCAuto based issue will be upgrade to 4.0.1.2.
The upgrade is simple, it's a stop, replace the files, and restart SCAuto. Absolutely painless.
