    Default Data encryption in P4

Unfortunately, I can't find any docu about that topic. For special security reasons, I have to encrypt some data fields in a specific table. I have set the field attribute "encrypted" in datadict to "true", added the line "encryptionkey:12345678" in the "sc.ini" file and restarted the sc-console. No result.
    any idea or other experience?
ServiceCenter Server: 6.1.2.0 build 0073 ServiceCenter Client: 6.1.2.0 build 0074 I'm only using the P4 Database

    Tom,

You probably have this resolved by now, but if not, here is a suggestion.

It appears you flipped all the right switches, but maybe in the wrong order. For encryption to work, you need to turn it on first by setting your encryption key in the ini and then restarting the sc-console. Once you are back in the system, set the encryption field to "true" in the datapolicy record. The system will then pause while it applies the ecryption using the key defined the ini.

    Hope this helps.

    Thumbs up

I agree with Jim, I believe I saw in the documentation or a KB article that the encryptionkey param should be in place BEFORE enabling encryption via tha datadict.

I had this problem on a drop-down list that was in the cm3r table... the field was assignment it was encrypted in the datadict record.
Couldn't take it out.. and this error was impossibilating me from chooseing another option.,

What I simply did was: I went to the form design and created a new drop down list made it exactly the same as the one with error .. and VIOLÁ!!

    Everything worked well
STUPID FORM DESIGN SOEMTIMES IS THE CAUSE OF ALL MY PROBLEMS!!
    Best Regards,
