Thread: What can it connect to?

  1. #1

Question What can it connect to?

    Hello,

I'm a more of a ServiceCenter user, but we are looking in to AssetCenter and Connect-it,

we currently have Centennial software which scans all the pc's on our network and stores the data within it's SQL database.

Could we use connect-it to copy 5 or 6 fields into the AssetCenter database?

Could we do this with the standard Connect-it?,.... I have heard poeple talking about connectors etc?

Yes Connect. It can connect to a SQL database but not in the base version. You need to purchase a seperate connector from HP.

    Hi Tommy,

    thanks for your reply,.....

So what does the base version enable you to do,...?

I would guess just connect AssetCenter and ServiceCenter? but what if SC is using an SQL database instead of P4?

    Thanks,

I can't remember all the available connectors in the base version.

SC & AC connectors are included.

    Text read & write connectors.

    XML read & write connectors.

As for SC on P4 or SQL. The standard method to connecto to SC is with the SC connector which connects the same way as a client and it does not matter wether sc is on P4 or external RDBMS. To connect to SQL You need the additional connector.
