    Question scauto.log

    Sorry if I sound stupid.....

We are trying to determine if we actually use the Openview NNM license under SCAUTO, support told me to check the scauto.log to see what apps SCAUTO starts, stops, failures, etc but I don't know where that log is. I have found just about 20 other .log files, but not scauto, please help

Check the "RUN" folder and the "logs" folder.

Have a look in sc.ini to see of the log location has been changed from default.

You could also check with system monitor in sc to see if there is a connection with Openview.

    Angry

Checked sc.ini and it only references the sc.log which I have checked and it doesn't list what processes scauto launches, only those that fail when scauto starts. I also checked system monitor which again shows only scauto running (client -12690) not what licenses/processes scauto is using.........

I know we use SDK, but I am pretty sure we don't use the OpenView NNM which is what I have to prove with all this before we can stop paying for it.....

Yes in the licenses area we show these two:

    SCAuto/OpenView/Network Node Manager (NNM)
    SCAuto/OpenView/Operations (ITO/VPO)

Others too but these are the only referencing OpenView

Ok then the solution is simple.

Ask HP for a new license without the Openview option.

I can't believe they actually ask You to prove You ar enot running Openview to cancel payment on it when all they have to do is give You a new license without the option.
