Thread: Forms Designer 6.0

When adding new fields to a screen, the forms designer in 6.0 does not save / redisplay the form the same way that it looked when it was saved. When we originally implemented, this was such a problem that the company that was hired to customize the screens for us used a release 5 version to design / modify the screens and then export the form from release 5 and import it into release 6.

We are now adding some fields to forms and are not pleased with the results we are seeing. HP has told us that forms designed in release 6.1 cannot be imported into 6.0.

Question 1: In order to get around the problems with the 6.0 forms designer - what techniques have been used?

Question 2: Has anyone tried importing a 6.1 form into 6.0 and what kind of problems did you have? (In other words - was HP correct in what they told us?)

Question 3: In the short run - would loading release 5 to use a forms designer be our most efficient solution? (We will be upgrading to 6.1 - but not for at least 6 months would be my estimate.)

I suggest "Server Upgrade SC6.1 - and clients" - there is a description in SC6.1 online help ... there's a detail description what to do to have SC6.1 RunTime with SC6 Application...
