Thread: One instance on a database with two different users (one of them for SC) on Oracle

Default One instance on a database with two different users (one of them for SC) on Oracle

    Hi,

We are working on a project involving 2 major parts: ServiceCenter 6.1.1 (for the service desk) and another solution for inventory, teledistribution...

Now, we have one database server (Oracle 9.2.0.6 on AIX) for both solutions. The dba allocated one instance on the database with two different users (database users): one user for SC and the other for the inventory/teledistribution solution. Oracle is configured on shared mode (because there are many users and the memory is limited...).

My question: can I migrate from P4 to Oracle with the specified SC user even if we have one common instance for both solutions?
I heared that one instance with two differentdatabase users is like two different databases, but I am still not sure about that...

What do you think? And what about the use of shared mode?

Thanks in advance for your help.
