I was told by Peregrine that the rad program called us.launch.external.NEW doesn't work with Servicecenter 6.x. This program would launch an external url or exe from the server.
Is anyone using something else to run an .EXE from the server?

I was replacing a RAD application that we used to accomplish something similar and struggled to find the best way to do this. Here is what I ended up doing:
Call the attach (Calling it a rad application may be incorrect, I believe command panel is the correct terminology here) "application". Pass it 3 parameters:
name - name of the executable (path included)
values - any parameters for the executable (array)
cond.input true/false, true tells the system to wait until the program terminates before continuing.
This worked like a charm for me. I would like feedback from anyone who may have tried this in the past, maybe a better way!
I worked forever trying to get us.launch.external to work and pulled out lots of hair.
** I did this on an AIX box, but I dont see why a Windows server would support this.
Hi,
I just wanted to confirm that the attach panel functionality mentioned above works ok when SC Server is hosted on a Windows 2003 server also.
Hey Chris,
Do you know if attach used additional parameters in sc 5? Or does anyone else know that? I think you may have given me an idea as to why I can't get attach to work in the upgrade I am working on.
Actually it should work in Windows, I found one issue. The parameter to have the flow stop until the attach process completes does not seem to work when called this way. I fixed the problem with us.launch.external.NEW and I use this to run external applications. I can attach if there is interest.
kindly attach the rad and the fix for the us.launch.external.new...
that will be very useful !
thanks

Sorry for the delay, crazy project! I attached the file, rename to .unl if you want, it is a binary file, dont be fooled by the .txt!
HI ,kernal74, I follow your method , and import the unl file, But When I doing a test, the sm client does not repond me .I have no way, only killed the sm client process.
I am using the sm7.11. Does the unl file support the sm 7.11 environment?
