2 instances of 6.1.3 on same box
I have tried to set up two instances of 6.1.3 on the same box. I only need one with web services. The problem I have though is when I try to install the second instance it wants to modify or remove the existing instance. Is it possible to install 2 instances of the the same version of 6.1.x on the same box? If I try to install 1 instance as 6.1.3 and the other 6.1.2 I have no problem.
The box is Windows 2k3.
The installer won't let you install the same version multiple times under the same user.
I think you can if you install under 2 different users. (I have not tried it myself).
Or do this:
Copy the whole installation directory
Modify the sc.ini file in the new RUN directory
- change port number(s)
- change path
- change servicename
Run "scservic -install" from the new run directory
Should work.
