Thread: Building AC Database - auth code with MAC

  1. #1

Default Building AC Database - auth code with MAC

Recently had to install AC for a client,... they required their database to be on their database cluster, AC Server on another machine and had the client on another machine.

    Received a MAC specific authcode,...

Tried building the database and received errors,... tired multiple times,.... although was fine on my test environment

Peregrine finally suggested to try a test code to build the database, when I pushed them saying that I didn't want to keep turning up to the client if it was just going to fail again, they told me that it was a 'known error' and you can't use the MAC specific code to build the database, unless you have the database and AC server on the same machine and are building the database from this machine,....

I think they should have told me the 'known error' when I requested this MAC specific code,.... would have saved me about a week and the excuses to the client as to why it wouldn't work,...

    Hi Jones,

You have two ways to use auth code:
1 - Ask for dev licence key (if your client has paid its licence there is no issue)
2 - If you are using a Virtual Machine, change the mac adress.
