Thread: All assets going in to Computers table

Unhappy All assets going in to Computers table

    Hello,....

As mentioned previously i'm new to Connect-IT,....

I have set up a scenario which now picks up assets (PC, SERVERS, PRINTERS etc) from an SQL database and copies it to AC,

The scenario works fine and imports all the data,..... then I realised that 'all' the assets are populated in to the Computers table aswell,.... and obviously I dont want all the printers etc in here,

in my mapping I start at computers, then Porfolio, Assets etc etc,.......

How do I get only computers assets to populate the computer table,... but still allow all the assets to populate the other tables like assets+batches and portfolio?

Do I have to have a separate mapping for non computer assets and start my mapping at portfolio? or do I add a query? to this one?, if so where abouts?

Any help would be much appreciated,......

I'm so close yet so far!

    I have my mapping as

    Computer
    0000000I
    0000000Portfolio
    000000000000I
    000000000000Asset
    000000000000I 000I
    000000000000I 000Nature
    000000000000I 00000000I
    000000000000I00000 000Model
    000000000000I
    000000000000Location

This was the mapping given in the documentation,...

    I may be wrong, but should I have mapped it more like;

    Portfolio
    000I00I
    000I00Asset
    000I00I000I
    000I00I000Nature
    000I00I00000000I
    000I00I00000000Model
    000I00I
    000I00Location
    000I
    000Computer

    ???

Since computer has an assettag field, I would probably have done this:

    Portfolio
    000I
    000Asset
    000I0I0I
    000I0I0Nature
    000I0I000000I
    000I0I000000Model
    000I0I
    000I0Location
    000I
    000Computer

I would try to "pifignore" the computer section when mapping and item is not a computer.

If that doesn't work (i.e. it still adds a computer record), then I would set up a seperate mapping for the computer items (do a "pifignore" if item is not a computer) and another mapping for the non-computer items (do a "pifignore" if item is a computer).
