    Default Upgrade 6.1 to 6.2

I am starting on a project to upgrade a customer systrem from 6.1 to 6.2.

Of course I am reading the upgrade manuel but wanted to hear if anybody got tips & tricks to make the upgrade as smooth as possible.

One thing I already found out is once the datafiles from 6.1 has been used in 6.2 the operators that have logged on get the password encrypted in a way that is NOT supported in 6.1 so if you want to go back you MUST setup a sysadmin userid while in 6.1 and NOT logon with this on 6.2.

    What kind of bugs?

I have so far found one bug in relation to change management. Default category on profiles is not used.

At this moment I have no more information. I heared it from an consultant, who is upgrading to 6.2. First they try 6.2.1. After a lot of bugs they go back to 6.2.0.x, which is more stable. So my question here is, if sombody else has same observation.

I am right now in the process of checking change and release management on a system that has been upgraded from 6.1 to 6.2.1 (server 6.2.1.1 client 6.2.1.0).

And one minute ago I actually just got a weird error when opening a new change. SC could not read ir.cm3r from disk in read mode ?? What the heck is that. In 6.x ir files reside in the table scirexpert not in the flat files as in previous systems. I need to see if it also happens on an OOB system.

Its probably easier to ask specific questions and I will try to answer them. But I guess the most important advice I can give is be sure to read the upgrade guide thourougly and run a test run. First try it on an oob system to go through the whole process so you get familiar with it. Then get a copy of the system you need to upgrade and run a test on that too. If you can only do it on a "live" test system make sure to backup before doing anything so you can revert to the state before you tried th upgrade.

Other than that ask questions and I will try to answer them.
