    Question SQL Compare upgdbdct.dta

We try to upgrade SC 6.1.4 to SC6.2.2 on Linux. We are now on page 67 of the Upgrade Utility Guide.

    To compare applications
1 Load sqlupgrade.unl into your development system.
2 Type *mSQL COMPARE in the ServiceCenter client command line. Press Enter.
The SQL Compare Utility menu opens.
3 Click Run SQL Compare. A dialog box opens.
4 Type the fully qualified path to upgdbdct.dta including the final back slash
(\) or forward slash (/), depending on your operating system. For example, if
you copied the files to a tmp directory, the path would be:
     Windows: c:\temp\upgrade\
     Unix: /tmp/upgrade/
Do not include the file name (upgdbdct.dta) in this path.

We do this steps, but when we try to run SQL Compare with upgdbdct.dta, there is an error like:
file is not in P4 format

Is there any expierence with this issue?

    Thanx
    Tuncay

    WE have a solution:
adding substrclassic:1 to the sc.ini file. This corrected the issue for us.

Just want to add one little note here in case anyone else reads this...

You'll want to be sure that you only use that param during the loading of the unloads, when I worked for HP we definitely did NOT recommend that customers run 24/7 (prod) with that in place in the sc.ini file. Just add it to the sc.ini, login, do the load, log out, remove it or comment out... then continue on; do not use it full time.

You are right, we get problems with german characters like ü,ä,ö etc. it is better to remove it or comment out... :-)
