    Default Service Manager Client Problem

    Hi,

I have installed SM7 on Unix platform with Oracle connectivity and uploaded default data also.

I have started smstart and scstart services on server.

I have loaded SM client on windows machine, but when I am trying to connect the server from windows client I am getting following error.

Error connecting server, server not up or wrong connection parameters.
    Cause: java.xml.soap.SOAPException:Message send fail.......

When I am checking the status of both the services (smstatus and scstaus)
    Processes:
    Semaphores:
    Shared Memory:

its not showing anything with above services.

    Thanks,
    Ripple

Did you install Autopass and install a license? If not, that'll be in sm.log like Tommy said.

Why you connect to Oracle as system ? You should place some other user (scheme owner) than system.
    It should be in sm.ini
user=unknown - did you configure your oracle connection properly?
Try tnsping in dos prompt. It this will say OK, than play with sm.ini

    regards
    Artur

My advice before going further is like Athur suggests to create a specific user that only has access to the SC database instead of using the system user.
