    Default SCAuto: SEND <ERR(809)>

    Hi,

Does anyone know what the following error means?

    3164 03/12/2008 09:22:59 SCAuto: RECV <QUERY,0000000000197321>
3164 03/12/2008 09:22:59 SCAuto: Processing command request QUERY
    3164 03/12/2008 09:22:59 SCAuto: SEND <ERR(809)>

We're running both SCAuto-Openview as well as SCAutomate Mail and when either of these services are running, the above errors are written to our sc.log file at a rate of approx 14274 per minute.

pmo events (both in & out) seem to be getting processed without any problems however emails just sit in the eventout queue without being sent and pmu events are no longer being created in the eventout queue. Both these issues have only been occuring for as long as we've been seeing the above SCAuto errors in our sc.log file.

I've restarted ServiceCenter & SCAuto and I've rebooted the SC app server but this has made no difference. We've also restarted HP-Openview NNM and rebooted the NNM server as well but the error still persists.

Any suggestions or advice relating to this error would be greatly appreciated.

    Many thanks!

    Hi,

try to isolate the possible cuase. Tirn off one of the SCAuto: OV or email.
In general I do not know what this error means, sorry.
Try to debug SC - look for RTM parameter in help.
Also SCAuto has an option to write more detailed log.

Is it your first launch of SCAuto or you changed something in its configuration?

    regards
    Artur

We've had SCAuto implemented for over 2 years now and nothing in the configuration changed that coincided with this issue occuring.

Our external support people said it was most likely:
1: Password on the account used by SCAuto has changed or the account itself has been disabled
2: Network Connectivity issues between SC App server and Exchange server
    3: Exchange server is down

I've got SCAuto running on one of our DRP servers and pointed it to the SC app server, using the same user account/profile as the one thats not working and it worked fine, so this rules out any problems with the user account. I'm also able to send mail using Outlook on the SC App server without any problems which eliminates any network connectivity issues and also confirms that the mail server is not down.

I tried to rtm parameter although this didn't seem to shed any insight into the problem. I also had the "debugscauto:999" parameter in sc.ini and this only gave me the information provided in my original post.

The errors are still occuring when either or both SCAuto-Openview or SCAutomate-Mail, the errors will appear as long as at least one of these is connected, interestingly enough there are 10second intervals between messages when just SCAutomate-Mail is running, yet they are continuous when SCAuto-Openview is running.
