    Default Upgrading from SC 6.1 to SC 6.2.4

    Hello everybody,

    I am about to start a new project. The first task will be to upgrade customer system from SC 6.1 version to a SC 6.2.4 one.
    It's the first time I am going to make an upgrade.
    Can I have some advise from your experience ?

    This is a "simple" binary upgrade. There is no application upgrade involved as there is whne you in future wants to upgrade to SM 7.x.

    First upgrade the server then the clients.

    I advice you to upgrade development first and use that for a while. Then upgrade test and and conduct a user accept test. Once that has been approved upgrade production.

    There is an app difference between 6.1 and 6.2... One can run 6.2.4 RTE with SC6.1 apps or also upgrade the apps.

    Default How much Time ?

    Hello,

    How much time would such upgrade take ( 6.1 -> 6.2.4) ?
    I have been told that comparing to older versions (v5 and previous), in v6 the upgrade function features in SC6 itself and that there is no additional or complementary software to use. Is it the case ?

    A recent application upgrade I was part of took about 6 months. A complex system that could not be frozen during the upgrade hence the length. If you can freeze development during the upgrade process you should be able to do it much quicker.

    Default RAD Comparison utility

    Hello,

    I am doing this upgrade right now from SC 6.1.2 -> 6.2.4.
    I am at the Resolving conflicts stage (chapter 5 from the manual), I want to use the RAD comparison utility to do a "compare all".
    I keep receiving error messages. I am wondering whether there is a pb in my upgrade or I am entering wrong data in the fields before clicking on Compare all.

    Can anyone give me advice on this ? If possible by adding a prtscreen, pls.
