SC translation is done using the "scmessage" table. The original english text is stored in the "Message Number" field and the translated text in the "text" field.

For the menu, you can search for:

    language Code: ru
    Classs: scmenu
    Message Number: <MENUNAME>-<MENU-DESCRIPTION>
    Text: MENU DESCRIPTION (in russian)

    Hi MEICHLER,

I followed the above steps to translate a new display option....

    language: fr
    class:scbutton
Message Number: <display option -Default Label>
    Text: Defautl label in French

but when a french user logged in, system is still showing the display button default label in English.

Could you plz help me by pointing me in right direction where i am doing mistake.

    Thanks in advance.

    Hi Krishna,

I've done translation in SC6.2 only. There I noticed, that in the field "Text" only the 1st character can be in uppercase - otherwise translation did not work.

    Hi Martin,

    Thanks for your reply.

I will explain you the steps I did ...

    1. Created a displayoptin with default label "Save feedback".
    2. created a scmessage

    language code:en
    class:scbutton
    Message number: Save feedback
    Text: Save feedback

    3. created another scmessage record for french

    language code:fr
    class:scbutton
    message number:Save feedback
    Text: Sauvegarder commentaire

You can see that I used only 1st character in uppercase....when login to sm7 as french user still displaying in english "Save feedback" instead of displaying in french as "Sauvegarder commentaire".

What I also didn't understand is for some of the OOB displayoptions for example "Add Feedback", in scmessage record message number is mentioned as "Add Feedback_15" instead of just "Add Feedback."
My question is as the DO 'default label' is different to scmessage 'Message Number', how system will recognise this scmessage translation for this displayoption(DO)?

    Thanks in advance.
