    Default SM7 License

How do you deploy a new license (auth code) into SM7? I think you put it in the HP Auto Pass Directory, but I can't get it to work.

These are the steps I followed:

    1. Create a file, LicFile.txt, to store the license data in. Placed in
    C:\Program Files\Common Files\Hewlett-Packard\HPOvLIC\data
2 Copy the license data from the license file and paste it in the
    LicFile.txt you created.

Make sure ALL the keys you got from HP are included. If you have license for multiple modules you could have several keys especially if number of licenses for each module is different.

The email that you received with your keys should also list IP address (and possibly host name), you should verify that these match the IP for the machine you're deploying to.

If it is a test/dev environment then you'll need to get specific keys for those machines as well.

It's a non-IP specific key, but doesn't seem to work. I get the error in the sm.log: "Failed validating license(either locally or in the cluster). Terminating the process."

I created a ticket with HP, I'll let you know what I find out.

There also needs to be a single hard return at the end of the license string.

This was a simple issue that got out of hand. It would help if I wasn't working on multiple projects right now too. Anyway it was an easy fix, in case you get this error, make sure to use this AutoPass Directory:

    C:\Program Files\Common Files\Hewlett-Packard\HPOvLIC\data

I had two AutoPass Directories, and the one AutoPass directory wasn't used by SM7. This was the wrong directory:

    C:\Program Files\Hewlett-Packard\HPOvLic\data
