Default tree control for SC or SM

    Hi,

I have a web application which must be recreated in SM 7.
It is already used in my company for about 2 years, so users get used to it
    pretty much.

In that web app there is a tree showing the CI's. Is there something similar to
tree in SM/SC available, or has anyone a good idea how to replace tree with
something at least a little similar to it?

    regards
    Artur

    Hi Artur,

you could create a "static" tree by creating views (for example PC, Server, etc..) and placing them into folders...

    Hi,

you can search for example for "server", then save it as a view, then you search for "computer", then save it as a view, etc... Then you create a folder in navigation and drag both views to this folder...

    Greets,

In SM7 you can create a view for the device table with hierarchical groups, so that it could group by device type/location/owner, or whatever structure you wanted to use.

Users can be given the ability to define their own views and grouping, so they could group differently based on their needs.

In SM7, you have the "visualization" option for CI's, showing the CI and its related CI's based on the up and downstream info. This is OOB and works good. Check out the option list for any CI, or even the options on IM.
