Thread: SCAuto required?

  1. #1

    Default SCAuto required?

Can someone just clarify something for me on ServiceCenter v5.0?

I have an external system that will pass and pickup data from SC.

Can I do this without using SCAuto?,.... or this a requirement to give the external system something to 'point to'?

Also,.... if SCauto is required,.... is this a seperate product with a seperate cost?

    Many thanks,

Hi, reading my post back I may not have made myself that clear,.....

Basically, I have an external application that would be able to pass data to SC via event services 'eventsin' file and then also pick up events from the 'eventsout' queue.

I have the event services manual, but I am still not sure if I would require SCAuto? would I need this to allow my system to connect and read the event queues?

or could I connect to these queues anyway withouh it?

You either need SCAuto or Connect. It to read and write in the event queues.

    thanks Tommy,... appreciate the reply,....

The event services guide mentions using a product such as connect-IT or scauto,..... but wasn't sure if this was "you can" or "you must",

Haven't been able to find a SCAuto guide so far on the HP site,... although it always seems to be down when I try.?

    thanks for your help,
