I had found an email client that served my needs but unfortunately it has started corrupting mails. This has forced me to use the M$ client because it is the only client that come as close to my multi account requirements as possible.

I have looked at the Bat but it did not fullfill all my requirements.

    I knew You would ask

What I need is the ability to retrieve mails from several accounts at the same time, the results should be displayed in one inbox with indications of which account the mail has been received from. When replying the correct account should also be used. Ie a mail received on my sc account should be replied with the sc accout and my linux account with linux and so forth.

See screenshot of Xpress plus which does all that and more, it can retrieve mails from many different mailservers, You can even see the inbox at the server before downloading.

Express plus can be downloaded from www.isbister.com (30 day trial)

In the newest version it is also possible to see the mails on the server BEFORE you download them.

And I THINK it should be possible to putt ALL emails in ONE inbox with showing the emailaccount where the mail was sendet to.

But anyway.... I will look at that XPLUS ... I am curious...

Ohh I forgot an important thing that MS can't do - filters to get rid of spam mails.

Its really out of the question that you are NOT in a high risk to catch you a virus. THAT is really a good point for Notes.

But I really don't like the handling of that program.

    Its TOO complicated..
    I HATE it

The filter functionality is really POWERFULL in TheBat.

I just looked at the screen shot from XPLUS..
It looks a little bit similar to MS-Outlook.

    Nice..

    Would be an alternative client...

    Are you using it privat?

Theres only a few things about Lotus Notes I don't like:
    • Sometimes it is painfully slow
    • At home startup is painfully slow
    • When replying to all on internet mails the original receiver is also included in the to list - really stupid
    • Did I mention the speed

Yes Xplus and MS Outloook express = at home / private mails.

    Lotus Notes at work.

Actually at work we have an alternative mail client that is ABSOLUTELY 200% virus proof! We have a mail system on mainframe that is 100% text based  And many users prefer that over Lotus Notes and other mail clients!

Mail can imported from Outlook Express and in EML format.

I don't think it can import Your address book but maybe the other product from Isbister "Time & Chaos" can do it. "Time & Chaos" is a PIM.
