Default Upgrade SC from 6.2.2 to 6.2.6

    Hi All,

Does anyone have information on upgrading from SC 6.2.2 to SC 6.2.6? We were able to find an upgrade guide, but this is for SC4 to SC6.2. Any information on the process of upgrading would be appreciated.

    Thanks

The "Upgrade Guide" from SC4 to SC6.2 is most probably an application upgrade.

You need to upgrade the SC Binaries only, the application has not changed. You ned to:
    - backup your system (data, config files, etc)
    - uninstall 6.2.2
    - install 6.2.6
    - check configuration settings (sc.ini, sc.cfg etc)

As always, do the upgrade first on your test/development system ;-)

We were told we could do a side by side install. We tried this and it seemed to work for a couple days, but then while in SC6.2.6 it started throwing errors at us. It seemed to mess up the database, because we couldn't even get 6.2.2 to stop the errors. Not sure what happened, but we ended up restoring. I was really hoping to see some more specific steps for this.

Were you running both at the same time? You definitely shouldn't do that. You most certainly can install 6.2.6 in a different directory, then shut down 6.2.2 and start up 6.2.6.

No we didn't have them running side by side. They were in two different directories with 2 different services. Not sure what caused the problems.

You should have no problems running a 6.2.4 and 6.2.6 side by side on the server. Configured properly you can certainly have several different versions runnning on the same server.

Are you certain that the services/folders etc was completely seperate ? And there were no paths etc in sc.ini that pointed to wrong folders ?
    Best regards Tommy
