Default Feelings about upgrade from Get.It! 2.x to Get-Answers 4.0

Does anyone have any thoughts or feelings about the fact that customizations done in Get.It 2.x will not be able to be carried over to Get-Answers 4.0 and that Get.It 2.x and Knowlix will only be supported for another 12 to 18 months? How about the fact that Get-Answers will not be customizable without the purchase of a consultant's license? What are people's plans for migration? Any feedback that any of you have who are in this same situation would be much appreciated.

    Thanks,

Since we can not make modifications in the product we are thinking of developing our own webinterface instead.
There is absolutely no way I'm gonna pay a consultant each time I want to add or remove a field or a function

Currently we run crystal reports to extract data from P4 to a DB2 database. This occurs 4 times an hour. Hopefully within the next 3-6 months we will shadow some files to db2 and the read access will then be directly from Db2.

I got a very good presentation of that WebInterface during my visit at Maersk Data, quite interesting. You should go there and see it for your self and make your own impression Jeppe

Hopefully you are lucky to get chocolate cake too

Tommy, how big are the chances that the webinterface in question will show up as a WebSphere application?
