We are needing to upgrade our DB2 version from 8 to 9.5 on a new SLES10 Linux operating system.

Which version of AssetCenter do we need to upgrade to? Should we need to upgrade? How hard would the upgrade path be?

    Hi,

    1. look into compatibility matrix for AC, to see what DB is supported. Remember - if you use unsupported version of anything (DB, OS, servicepack) - HP might refuse to
help you in case of problems. I am not saying they will, but it is quite a big chance for it.

    2. If you need just to change the DB (and it is supported) - that should be easy. But
I have done it for Oracle or MS SQL - never for DB2, so I have no idea how it is with DB2. I think it should not be difficult.

    3. If you need to upgrade the AC - then you have to look in documentation and tools
provided with AC. I have not used AC for a long time, but as far as I know, upgrade from AC 4.4 to 5.x should not be painfull. There were mostly changes in web access, not in the database level.

    regards
    Artur
