    Default LDAP Connector and Scheduler

    Hello All !

I have some problems with a scenario involving the LDAP connector and SC connector.

More particurlarly with the scheduler I have created.

    I use Connect It 3.0.1 with SC 4.1 on a W2000 Server.

I created a service so Connect It launches automatically the scheduler ....

The problem is that the scheduler starts ... and something like 10 seconds after it stops and I have the following error message :

(16384) (API LDAP) Administrative limit exceeded
(16384) Contactez l'administrateur LDAP ou affinez votre requête LDAP.

I guess it's because the connection is lost between the connect It server and the LDAP server.

I think about using an AT command to stop and then start the Service before the beginning of the scenario.....

Does anybody has any idea ???

    Thanx

    Guillaume

I don't know if it is related but since we upgraded from 3.0.0 to 3.0.1 we have had problems with NT services.

Every time we start the service it stop few seconds later with an error message indicating that conit.ini is empty or ocrrupted.

Support is working on the issue.

We are currently running LDAP via Connect. It 3.0 against Exchange 5.5 to get new contacts into AssetCenter 3.60 and then into ServiceCenter 4.0.9.

Since we are now using Active Directory I must chnage tis does anyone have a working scenario for connect.it that works against active directory? Or any hint or tips regarding this issue?

    Default LDAP Limitation

it depends on your ldap connection settings. There is a ldap restriction , a normal user get a limited max returns ... thats all. Talk to your ldap admin , and ask for a full account , not a user account

I thought about changing the LDAP account used but what is really strange is that when I launch manually the scenario I don't have any problem ....

OK ! I got answers from the french Peregrine Support :

There is a problem of bui version with Connect-It and more particularly with the LDAP connector.

For those who are using the LDAP connector they should use the 3.0.1.21.32 version .... minimum
Means that in fact they should use the 3.1.0 version that has been released recently !

    The identified problems were :
    - impossibility to use a Windows Service to launch the Scenario
    - impossibility to update the destination table when launching the
scenario. Each time it is launched it is a new import.

    Hope this will help.

The 3.1.0 version is available on the Peregrine support site.

Tommy, I have the same problem as you running NT Services. I have found however if you copy the conit.ini file from the user profile that is logged in into the WINNT\SYSTEM32 directory that fixes the problem.

    Tommy,

To fix your Problem there is a TechNote that Peregrine sent me ....

    Here it is :

    no associated scenario file

    1. Delete conit.ini

    2. Create a service in the CIT console. A conit.ini file will be created in the
    'C:\Documents and Settings\<logged on username>'.

    3. Configure service.

    4. Start the service. A new conit.ini file will be created in the 'C:\Documents and Settings\ Default User' directory.

    5. View the Service Log. The following error occurs. 'Service<servicename> has no associeated scenario file in C:\Documents and Settings\Default User\conit.ini'

    6. Comparing the INI files, the one in the Default User directory does not have any service entries.

A workaround is available. Copy the conit.ini file from from the 'C:\Documents and Settings\<username>' to the Windows NT directory (C:\winnt) and delete all other conit.ini files. Start the service and it will work.

Another solution would be to chose the account for the service being the same as the one creating the service

    It works Perfectly.

Tommy, where on the ftp site did you find the download?
I've looked all over the place including the CIT301 and Connect. It directories but I can't seem to find it.

    thanks, Aaron
