The anubis process automatically checks the system status of all processes
listed in the startup record. If they are not running, anubis restarts them.
To use the anubis process, you need an agent record and a schedule record.
Follow the instructions below to create these if they don't already exist.
Note: Anubis only restarts processes defined in the startup info record, so
if there are additional processes you want anubis to monitor, add them to
the startup record.
Warning: Even if you include the anubis process in the startup record,
anubis obviously cannot restart itself if it dies.
Task One: Create an anubis agent record
1. Logon as a ServiceCenter administrator, e.g., falcon.
2. Go to the Agent Initialization Registry (info.startup.g form), e.g.,
by typing info in the ServiceCenter command line and pressing Enter.
3. On the blank Agent Initialization Registry form, type the following
values, then click Add:
Type: anubis
Agent: anubis
RAD Application: scheduler
Class: anubis
Wakeup Interval: 60 (or as desired)
Priority: 1 (or as desired)
Task Two: Create an anubis schedule record
1. Use the Database Manager to access the schedule file, e.g., by typing
sch in the ServiceCenter command line and pressing Enter.
2. On the blank Schedule File form (e.g., schedule.looksee.g), type the
following values, then click Add:
Name: anubis
Class: anubis
Expiration: any date and time prior to the current time
Scheduled Class: anubis
Repeat Interval: 00:00:30 for a 30-second repeat, or whatever interval
is appropriate for your environment
Application: apm.anubis
Task Three: Start the anubis process
1. Go to the ServiceCenter System Status screen by clicking the System
Status button at the top right of the administrator's Home menu.
2. In the System Status window, click Start Scheduler, then select
anubis and press Enter.
Note: You can also add anubis to the startup record, or you can manually
start it when you feel it is needed. Just remember that if you need to stop
("kill") any process included on the startup record, you must stop anubis
first. Otherwise, anubis will restart it.
