Can't answer really, since we're just in R&D right now - we're using both SC4 and SC5 for tests - SC5 because it's the most recent, and SC4 'cause it's the most recent in French.

Anyone know when SC6 will be coming out, and when sc5 multi-language version will come out ?

If Peregrine stick to the normal plan SC6 should be relased some time march-may next year.

We've chosen to do our initial deployment on 5. We originally were going to play it "safe" and stay with 4, but there were too many problems (11 point releases in a year?). Also, Change and Incident Management have major rewrites from 4 to 5. We decided to take the risk of a new version instead of hassling with the upgrade.

My Point is that they have already released 5.01 so doesn't bode well for there development standards if every month they release a new version! I dont want to upgrade to v5 only to find that it has some serious inherant bugs, we run 4.05 and it has more holes than a block of swiss cheese!

Any major changes to date on 5.0.1 ?? I've downloaded it but haven't installed it yet, largely because I already have about 5 SCs in parralel on our server, and I don't know if the difference between Sc5 and 5.0.1 is worth adding yet more SW to our server. Not that the server is overloaded, not at all, but I want to keep control of what exactly is on that server.

BTW: Tommy, thx for the info about sc6..... if it comes out in may 2003, that means multi-language comes through in September, which is kinda tight for our November 2003 target date for production !!!

As for SC6, please do not take that information as anything else than an educated guess

As for 5.0.1: the IR regen issue should have been solved - I can't confirm this though because we do not have IR Expert any longer. It looks like the date issue with the ODBC driver has been solved.

Thx though for your guesstimate, it just confirms what I'd figured out myself - that we were definitaly going with sc5, even if it means looking at an upgrade within a year or two.
