    Hello all...

is there a possibility to use a different callmask depending which contact is in use?

I added the field "format" to the dbdict from the incidents table.

There is also a field in the contacts-dbdict which holds the information for the callmask which i to use. The fieldname is "callmask"

I added in the linkrecord from the standard-callmask the link 'format - callmask' when the link for the contact.name is started.

The link is working so far.. but the callmask dosn't change... :-/

    Some ideas about that?

I am not sure about this but You would probably have to call a rad application to refresh the screen.

But in fact I am not sure it is possible, compare it with the problem / category relation. When regustering problems You need to select the category and then click on a button to change the format specified by the category.

In any case I think You would need to utilize either focus out event or data changed event.

If You somehow can change the variable $L.format.name and refresh the screen then You should have it.

I can change the variable $L.format.name trough the debugger without any problems. Aber i make a right click in the current format and choice "ENTER" the new format is used too.

What i dont get.. is doing that 'live'.

I tryed to change the $L.format.name in the format control.. but it dosn't work at all.. :-/

I will keep going on trying that...

Frank I just remembered one thing.

Have You tried VIEWS. I have not used that my self yet but on each formatctrl You can define different views by specifying a alternate format and a condition for using that. I don't know if the views can change automatically or the user has to manually select views and choose the proper one.

    Hi,

As Tommy says you can just create multiple views - this will be the correct way to solve it.

You can set conditions on each view so only the right users will see the formats.

Jeppe, I just tested this and it does not work the way that Frank would like.

To change the views you have to click on the view button (at least in SC4) then you can select the view.

Actually there is also a very simple way to do this:

You can create two tabs where two difference masks (on one format)..

and then.... create a visible condition on the tabs so it only shows one tab at a time DEPENDING on which contact you select.
