Thread: Need help getting data to report on from AssetCenter

Question Need help getting data to report on from AssetCenter

    Good day,

I have been asked to develop a new report from AssetCenter 4.4 using Crystal Reports 9. I have never done any reporting from AssetCenter before and I am running into some issues. I have physical data models of the various tables and how they related with one another, but I am having some serious problems trying to get these tables to give me the correct data. We use DB2 as our database.

    I need to put together a report that has AMASSSET.Platform, AMNATURE.NAME, AMLOCATION.NAME, AMPORTFOLIO.SEASSIGNMENT, AMASSET.SERIALNO, AMBRAND.NAME, AMMODEL.NAME, AMASSET.ASSETTAG, AMCOSTCENTER.TITLE AND AMASSET.BONMAINT.

On various attempts I have made, I can get some of the data out, but I need to know which tables should be linked with what. When I put in some fields from AMASSET, they all show up fine, but as soon as I add anything from AMPORTFOLIO, the report goes blank. Crystal Reports creates links in the application for me, and I was hoping the tables were all linked appropriately, but this appears to not be the case.

Has anyone run into issues like this?

    Thanks!

    Hi,

recreate the links in Crystal Reports according to AC db schema.
I am sorry I can not help more as I just simply not use AC for years, but I did such reports and with CR is capable to do it.
Start with 2 tables and sdd third one. Look into CR sql query - probably inner/outer joins are used and influence your result. Get rid of them and see what happens.
AFAIR - you can not relay on linking in CR, you have to create it by yourself.

    regards
    Artur
