Just to let you know, Peregrine have released the successor of InfraTools Desktop Discovery 6.x, now known as Peregrine Desktop Inventory 7, below you can see the supported scanners:

In our organization we only use OS/2 Warp . We have approx 30.000 users and run Msoffice2.0 and ServiceCenter.
All our servers are OS/2 servers.
