    Default Suggestions for SC people??

I'm certain that some of you probably have other people at your work who also assist in ServiceCenter administration.

What sort of profiles/permissions do you assign to someone who will be performing a sort of "backup admin" role? Not entirely a full systems admin quite yet.

Do you go ahead and give them full SysAdmin rights?? If not, what?

We have delegated some tasks such as creating new operators, assignment groups and assets to a small group within the helpdesk.

In SC3 we have not done much to provide a "safe" administration module for those people that do these tasks. This will change in SC5 where Peregrine already done a lot but I found that they still miss a lot but it is easier to add those things.

The people that do these tasks have sysadmin capabilities. And since our helpdesk staff already have powerfull users for almost all our systems we trust them to do just what they are required to do.
    Best regards Tommy

We have only 'off loaded' the 'new' and 'modify' user functions to our helpdesk. And the password reset.

We built a format that adds the user to the operator file with preferred menus, capabilities, default password... and then it also adds them to all the required 'groups' files in all the modules (e.g., ocmgroups, group.service, group.problem, cm3group...). Anyone requiring anything other than the 'standard' capabilities contacts our team -- very rare indeed.

The password reset is also a custom format.
