scmail mail box in Unix being deleted

Has anyone come across an issue in s/c version 4 where the scmail mailbox gets deleted after one(Just 1) mail has been processed from the mailbox.
Has anyone come across this issue befire in Unix????

Yep, I came across this in V3 as well.

You need to change the directory permissions where the mail file
exists to dr-xr-xr-x

the mail file itself will need to be -rw-rw----

This should allow the mail executable to write to the file but not delete it.
