I have had the opportunity to read one of Mike Sanders books about ServiceCenter "Customizing ServiceCenter".
The book is in a handy format and spiral bounded so it won't close when you put it down on the table.
The book has 176 pages and can be divided in 3 parts.
The first part explains some vital elements of SC development such as the different datatypes and syntax of expressions.
The second part is a series of real-world examples of how to use the different tools like formatcontrol, links, validations, virtual joins etc. Also included is an example of how to create a new menu that has all or most of the tools that a systemadmin needs in the daily work.
The third part is 3 appendixes.
Appendix A is a quick reference on among other things application variables, global variables, rtecalls, display screens including a handful of useful unix commands.
Appendix B is a list of common used RAD functions.
Appendix C is a glossary.
Even though I have worked with SC for 2 years I did find information in this book that I was not aware of.
I can definitely recommend this book. The second book from Mike Sanders is soon available, the table of contents from this book certainly look very interesting. I will especially look forward to the part about the new document engine in SC4. You can view a sample page here.
So what are you waiting for? Go order the books at Mike Sanders website:
