Is it better (performance) to leave the index and the data pool (both on 7) together, or is it possible to seperate them, eg data pool 7 index pool 7?

Not knowing for sure.
But I think unless SC is installed on a OS that can distribute the individual files on different disks it will probably not give much. But I dont know.
