Scheduling a batch file using Workflows

I have created a periodic workflow that executes a batch file. The workflows kicks off on time, the system creates a workflow instance record, but the batch never executes! I have run the batch file manually, and it works fine. I tested the automatic action that runs the batch file, and that also works fine. Has anyone run across anything similar to this? Can this have something to do with the way in which the Server is configured (the NT machine where the AssetCenter Server app is running)?

Does the AssetCenter Server service have access to the batch file (can it see the file, does it has rights to execute etc.) ?
