    Default scautomate eventin on unix

    We are running Sc 4.0.0 on unix aix 4.32. I am trying to get the scauto to accept eventin pmo's. the problem I am having is that eventin is getting the email with the SC_event: pmo but it is erroring out because the text is not readable, ex: _ÑËÄ;âÁËÈz<ÁË;
it is displating the evtype as "pmo" but it has status of "error"
and shows on the messages screen that it could not read the category. when i look at the email on the unix box in the mail file it is readable....not sure what could be causing this....help..

Check with PRGN support. If I recall correctly, there was a bug with SCAUTO specific to AIX where it would garlble the message string. I think there's an SCR & fix for it out there.

SCAuto 4.0.1 (900 kb) for AIX is available from the CenterPoint Support site.

When you open the compressed file you'll see a pdf-document telling the SCRs added to the package.

If you don't have a logon to CenterPoint just create one or drop me an email at steen_jensen_dk@mail.tele.dk and I will send it to you.

Thanks for the information guys, I downloaded the SCAuto upgrade 4.0.1 for AIX, followed the instructions and installed it on the UNIX box, but I am still getting the eventin's with garbled language. According to Peregrine there is a patch but it is for NT only. If anyone has any other ideas that would be great!!!! Peregrine said they are working on it but have no idea what is causing the problem.

The proper SCR & patch will include a new binary for AIX. If they just sent you a new .dll for the client or some such, then they sent you the wrong thing.

Thanks, they sent me a new scmail.ini and pmo.map. that is all I have now called them and asked about the binary. They are looking into which one is the correct one to send.

Hey thanx for all the help. they found the correct SCR and to fix this you have to change your scautod line in your scstart to include -language:Japanese

So an example in your scstart script would be the following:
    scautod -log... -language:Japanese

    [/code]

    Say what

Japanese language? Do You need to support that on Your SC?

No you do not have to have Japanese language supported on your SC system. for some reason on UNIX that line has to be part of your scautod start command in your scstart.

I added the line and we do not have Japanese language supported and now our eventin pmo's can be transulated by SCAUTO into service center.

They believe this was set for testing purposes and was not removed from the code before it was shipped out to customers. At least that is what my Peregrine service rep told me.

    Have a great day!!
